I Poets of Saturday<\/em> (or Authors of Saturday<\/em>) is a mini-series of presentations that took place at the former Spazio Tapirulan at Via Voghera 1 in Cremona between 2010 and 2013. The initiative was born with the aim of promoting local writers and, at the same time, enabling the discovery of interesting new authors from outside Cremona. Although\u2014as the title suggests\u2014an initiative closely linked to poetry, there were also some off-topic events: most notably, a photography exhibition entitled "Face the Fight," a bold and ambitious project by three young photographers from Brescia who documented the Vancouver Paralympics, Canada.<\/p>\n

Alongside the traditional book presentations by individual authors, the "poetry forum" also took place. This event features a face-to-face meeting between two authors, who, from their respective "pulpits," each have thirty minutes to present their book and be interviewed by their "opponent." A special hourglass marks the time allotted before the floor is given. The event has not been repeated since its fourth edition in 2013.<\/p>\n
